WELCOME TO SPICER COTTAGES TRUST

We are a not-for-profit Trust that provides affordable housing support where this might be required for Uniting Church ministers and/or their spouses in retirement.

The Spicer Cottages Trust (Spicer Trust) was established in 1897 by original benefactor Edward Spicer, who in early 1897 proposed ‘to make some provision in the way of homes: first, for ministers’ widows; and second, for supernumerary ministers who may be in straitened circumstances.

OUR COTTAGES

The current stock of dwellings includes five two-bedroom units at Payneham and Magill, two adjacent three-bedroom town houses at Athelstone and stand-alone three-bedroom dwellings at Rostrevor and Felixstowe.

Over the years the Spicer Trust’s various retirement housing options have been expanded, modified and upgraded to better meet increasing demand and the changing building and industry standards.
